It is with great sadness that the family of Jean Smith, wife of the late Robert N. Smith, formerly of O'Neil Ave., Bathurst, announces her passing which occurred on Wednesday February 5, 2025, at the Robert L. Knowles Veterans Unit, Bathurst, at the age of 95.

Born in Red Bank, NB, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Hubbard) Stewart.

Jean was a member of the First United Church, Bathurst, where she also taught Sunday school and was greatly involved in church suppers. She was an excellent cook. She led an active life, enjoying golfing with the girls in the summer and curled during the winter months.

She is survived by two sons:

Randy and Brad (Debbie) both of Bathurst.

Two grandchildren; Samantha and Christopher.

A great-grandson, Michael.

A sister, Joanne Stewart of Toronto, ON.

A sister-in-law, Mary Young of Lucan, ON.

Several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Margaret, Marie, Mae, Don, Helen and Shirley.

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held in the summer. Donations in memory of Jean may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
