Beresford - It is with great sadness that the family of Alma Cormier, of Beresford announce that she passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family, age 77, Feb 28th, 2025, after a courageous battle with Cancer.
Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Eileen (Whelton) Riordon.
She’s survived by her loving husband of 57 years Marc, her daughters Rachelle Goral and Lori Ann Kierstead (Wesley), her grandsons Connor (Emily), Michael (Kathleen), Kieran and Christopher.
She is also survived by her brother Dan Riordon (Ellen) and sister Elaine Knowles (Preston), sisters-in-law Winnie Cormier, Sandra Riordon, Viola Riordon and Diane Riordon.
Many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her brother Ray, Terry, David, Frank and her sister Coleen.
In her youth she worked for NB Tel. Once she got married, she worked with her husband behind the scenes hosting clients. She also collected for the heart and stroke foundation for 10 years all while raising her family.
She was part of a quilting club and was amazing at any craft she picked up. She loved to read and write.
She enjoyed life to the fullest with many wonderful adventures around the world.
Mainly she loved sunrises at the beach and fire nights at the camp.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a social butterfly who could spark a smile with anyone she met. Her blue eyes and smile would light you up on the dullest of days. She will be forever missed and loved.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral service will be celebrated on Friday morning March 7, 2025, at 11 a.m. from Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel, Bathurst. Donations in memory of Alma can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
