John James Calnan, 82, of Stout Court, Bathurst, passed away on Friday (June 2, 2006) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a brief illness. Born in North Tetagouche, he was the son of the late James and Gertrude (Brennan) Calnan. Before retirement, he worked as a Production Engineer at the former SMI. He is survived by his wife, Regina (Arseneau) Calnan. Four sons: Colin Calnan (Francetta) of Dartmouth, NS John Patrick Calnan of Halifax, NS Jim Calnan (Sandra) of Dartmouth, NS Bradley Calnan (Krista) of Bathurst Two daughters: Maureen Forbes (Robert) of Riverview, NB Cynthia Calnan of Toronto, ON Ten grandchildren; Clark, Johnathan, Andrew, Patrick, Jillian, Ivan, Eric, Grace, Liam and Anna. One brother: Gregory Calnan (Olga) of Bathurst One sister: Muriel Calnan of Bathurst. Numerous nieces and nephews. The family will relatives and friends after 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday afternoon (June 5, 2006) at 4:00 p.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst. Visiting hours are Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
