Julianna Smith of Bathurst, passed away on July 10, 2006 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Tirana, Albania in 1949, Julianna was the beloved daughter of the late Tefik Shehu and the late Sevdia Shehu. A loving and devoted wife, sister and aunt, Julie is survived by her husband Michael Smith of Bathurst, brother Hysen Shehu (Mira) of Albania and nephew, Julinda Shehu (Razee) of Albania and niece Una Shehu, Albania. She will also be sadly missed by her stepdaughters Lisa MacDonald (Greg) and Cheryl Smith all from Bathurst and stepsons Jason Smith and Wesley Smith (Terry) from Kitchener. She was a very special grandmother to Carly, Bailey and Ryver. Julie led a challenging and inspiring life in her homeland of Albania and brought with her to Canada an amazing spirit and strength that those who knew her, found inspiring. She was a proud Albanian woman who was very honored to become a Canadian citizen. She will be deeply missed.
