Bathurst - Alexander Caissie, 82, of the Robert L. Knowles Veterans Unit, Champlain St., and formerly of South Bathurst, passed away on Tuesday (September 18, 2007) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Adelard and Helen (Doucet) Caissie.
He served in World War II, with the Royal Canadian Army in Canada and overseas, was a member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst. He worked for the former Consolidated Bathurst Paper Mill.
He is survived by his former wife, Sarah "Sadie" (Hachey) Caissie of Bathurst

Leonard Caissie (Marie Blanche),
Herman Caissie (Edna) and
Ronald Caissie Marilyn), all of Bathurst
Three sisters:
Anne Marie Kenny (Ernest),
Rita Devereaux (Arthur) and
Anne Noel all of Bathurst
24 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by a son; Franklin in 1977, brothers; Joseph and Edgar.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning (September 21, 2007) at 11:00 a.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cathedral Cemetery, South Bathurst. For anyone wishing to send tokens of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to the Robert L. Knowles Veterans Unit or a favorite charity.
