Blanchard, Doris - 73, of Big River, passed away, Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. Born in Big River, she was the daughter of the late James and Catherine (Bateman) Black.
She was a member of the St. Theresa Church as well as a member of the Little Flower Council CWL and the Big River Seniors Happy 4 Club.
She is survived by:

Lloyd (Theresa);
Raymond (Claudette), both of St. Anne;
William (Darlene) of Salmon Beach;
Hal (Barbara) of Bathurst;
3 daughters:
Anne Branch (Vernon);
Irene Christie (Kevin) both of Big River;
Cindy Leith (Terry) of Huntsville, ON;
11 grandchildren:
Jennifer, Daniel, Jeffery, Raymond, Nancy, Colin, Sarah, Ashley, Kevin, Jacob, and Katie.
7 great grandchildren.
1 brother:
Donald Black (Yoland) of Bathurst;
1 sister:
Pearl Branch (Wesley) of Big River;
Many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Earl, in 1991 and a daughter Susan in 1972. Brothers; James, Cecil and Lloyd; sisters, Beatrice Branch, Martha Carey and Myrtle Smith.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at the Elhatton Funeral Home, St. George St., Bathurst from 7-9 PM, and Friday, March 14, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and Saturday, March 15, 2008 from 9 AM until time of funeral. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 11 AM from the Sacred Heart Cathedral. Burial will be in the spring at St. Theresa Cemetery, South Bathurst. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
