Bathurst - Leo Gallagher, 79, of Mount Carmel St., Bathurst, passed away on Monday (September 15, 2008) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late William R. and Ina (White) Gallagher.
He worked for the former Stone Consolidated Paper Mill and was a member of the Herman J. Good V.C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst.
Besides his wife, Lyla (Ramsay) Gallagher, he is survived by:

Janet Russell (John) of Bathurst
Two granddaughters: Jennie & Jessica.
Five brothers:
William (Muriel) and
David (Linda) both of Bathurst.

Two sisters:
Rachel Showkowy (Pete) of Oshawa, ON
Marilyn MacMinus (Chuck) of Cotton, ON
Several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by and infant son; Norman, brothers; Bernard, Oscar, Albert, John and a sister; Blanche Hurst.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning (September 18, 2008) at 11:00 a.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery, East Bathurst. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
