Sister Estelle Arseneault, 84 years and 8 months, after 62 years of religious life, which occurred Wednesday (September 17, 2008) at the Infirmary of the Religieuses Hospitalières de Saint Joseph.
Born in Dalhousie on January 25, 1924, she was the daughter of late Paul J. Arseneault and late Ella Arseneault.
Besides her religious family, she is survived by:
Three sisters;
Antoinette O'Keefe of Moncton, NB
Patricia Bernard of Charlo, NB and
Roma A. Caron of Montreal, QC.
One brother;
Paul-Émile of Dalhousie, NB
Several nieces and nephews.
Four brothers Yvon, Léon, Roland and Félix also one sister Eva predeceased her.
Sister Estelle Arseneault entered the order of R.H.S.J. in Campbellton on September 12, 1945 where she proclaimed her vows to the religious profession on September 8, 1947.
Sister Estelle worked in the different hospitals and care homes of the Congregation. She worked in administration and was the general director at the Hotel Dieu Hospital in Tracadie, Enfant Jesus Hospital in Caraquet and the Villa St.Joseph du Lac of Yarmouth, NS.
She was Provincial Superior of the congregation R.H.S.J.
Upon her retirement at La Maison Notre-Dame de l'Assomption, Sister Estelle volunteered her time as a receptionist and in the archives department.
The body will rest at La Maison Notre Dame de l'Assomption, 2144 Vallée Lourdes Drive, Bathurst, Friday (September 19, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. where a prayer vigil will take place at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday (September 20, 2008) at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of La Maison Notre-Dame de l'Assomption, 2144 Vallée-Lourdes Drive, Bathurst.
