Bathurst … Florian Boucher, 72, of Youghall Dr., Bathurst, passed away on Tuesday (September 23, 2008) at his residence.
Born in Caraquet, he was the son of the late Wilfred S. and Nazarine (Thériault) Boucher.
Besides his wife, Patricia (Dugas) Boucher, he is survived by:
Two sons:
Daniel (Chantal) of Varenne, QC
Marc (JoAnne) of Regina, SK
Four grandchildren; Jonathan, Nicholas, Eric and Alex.
Six brothers:
Stanley (Rita),
Francis (Simonne),
Wilfred all of Caraquet,
Orphir (Julienne) of Grande Anse,
William (Claudette) and
Léo (Suzanne) both of Québec, QC
Two sisters:
Martina Powers (Murray) of Timmons, ON
Pamela Patry (Ronald) of Moncton.
He was pre-deceased by brothers and a sister; Roméo, Thérèse, Vincent and Germain.
After retirement, he moved to Bathurst and was active in the Multicultural Association, serving one term as President and also served with the Provincial Multicultural Association. He was a member of the City of Bathurst Advisory Planning Committee and Waterfront Development Committee. He had also been a key member of the Committee to obtain Services to Youghall Dr., and was a member of the Herman J. Good V.C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst. Florian was an avid Sailor and had a special love for the sea.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning (September 26, 2008) at 11 a.m. from Holy Family Church, Bathurst.
Donations in memory of Florian, may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
