Bathurst – Sister Yvonne Cyr, 89, of The Religieuses Hospitalières de Saint-Joseph, 2144 rue Vallée-Lourdes, Bathurst, which occurred Wednesday October 15 2008 in her 70th year of religious life, at the Infirmary of The Religieuses Hospitalières de Saint-Joseph.
Born November 13, 1919 in Saint-Quentin, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Jean-Baptiste Cyr and Marie Maime Deveau.
Besides her religious family, she is survived by:
Two sisters;
Lina (Clyde Jepson) of New Sweden, Maine,
Yvette (late Percy Pelletier) of St-Léonard, N.B.
Two brothers;
Eudore Cyr (Aline),
Edgar Cyr both of Saint-Quentin, N.B.
One sister-in-law;
Thérèse (late Bertin Cyr) of Saint-Quentin.
Several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by four brothers ; Émile, Diogène, Bertin and Robert, five sisters; Aline (at infancy), Alfreda, Alphonsine, Gertrude and Marie-May.
Sister Yvonne Cyr entered the order of R.H.S.J. in Bathurst, September 26, 1937 where she proclaimed her religious vows on September 8, 1939.
Sister Yvonne worked as a nurse in the different hospitals, including Campbellton, Saint-Quentin, Saint-Basile, Hôtel-Dieu of Tracadie and Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst.
After her retirement, she worked in several capabilities at the Maison Notre-Dame de l’Assomption de Bathurst, including receptionist and with the choir.
The body will rest after 2 :00 p.m. Friday at the Maison Notre-Dame de l'Assomption, 2144 Vallée-Lourdes, Bathurst. A prayer service will be held Friday evening at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Maison Notre-Dame de l'Assomption, 2144 Vallée Lourdes, Bathurst. Burial congregational cemetery.
