Bathurst – André, 91, formerly of Levesque St., Bathurst, passed away on Friday (January 23, 2009) at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes, after a brief illness.
Born in Grand Anse, he was the son of the late Arcade and Marie Anne (Albert) Cormier.
He served in World War II with the Royal Canadian Army in Canada. He worked at the former Consolidated Bathurst Paper Mill for all of his life.
He was pre-deceased by his wife, Irene (Thibodeau) Cormier in 2006 and is survived by:
Five sons:
Rejean Cormier (Diane),
Harvey Cormier (Juanita),
René Cormier (Sonia Tremblay),
Roland Cormier (Claudia) and
Jean-Pierre Cormier (Bonnie), all of Bathurst
8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers:
Léo (Amanda) of Grand Anse
Fabien (Anita) of Montreal, Que.
One sister:
Georgina Cormier of Grand Anse
He was pre-deceased by a brother; Raymond and sisters; Stella, Laura, Dora, Edmée and Emma.
The body will rest after 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday (January 26, 2009) at 2:00 p.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St. Visiting hours are Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Monday from noon until time of Funeral. Burial will be in the Mount Carmel Cemetery, St. Mary's Ave., Bathurst.
