At the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, on January 29, 2009, Mr. Bert Carmichael of Bathurst passed away at the age of 86.
Born in Archibald Settlement, NB, in 1922, he was the son of the late Donald "Danny" and Eveline (MacLean) Carmichael.
He served in World War II with the Royal Canadian Army in Canada and overseas and was a member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst, and worked as a miner for most of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Good) Carmichael.

The body will rest after 2 p.m. Saturday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Service will be held on Sunday (1 February 2009) at 2 p.m. from the First United Church, St. Patrick, Bathurst. Interment will be in the Highland View Cemetery in the spring.
