Bathurst - Léo Legacy, 84, of Miramichi Ave.,Bathurst, passed away on Saturday (February 7, 2009) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a brief illness.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late William and Odilla (Couture) Legacy.
He worked at the former Consolidated Bathurst Parper Mill for 45 years.
Léo is survived by his wife, Thérèse (Aubie) Legacy and
was the father to:
Claudette Saunders (Robert) and
Pierrette Battah (Stephen) both of Fredericton
William (Louise) of Petit-Rocher
Aurèle (Lucille) of Nigadoo
Jocelyne Duguay (Donald) of Bathurst
Three brothers:
Lincoln (Arnolda) of Beresford
Albénie (Bella) of Moncton
Roger (Réjeanne) of New Richmond, Que.
Three sisters:
Géraldine Godin (Gerard),
Clothilde Blanchard (Edward) and
Blanche Doucet (Maurice), all of Bathurst
13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by a brother; Clifford and a sister; Mary Godin.
The body will rest after 2 p.m. Sunday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday morning (February 9, 2009) at 11 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours are Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Monday from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral.
