Bathurst - Albertus “Bert” Spin, 69, of University Dr., Bathurst, passed away suddenly on Tuesday (February 17, 2009) at his residence.
Born in Holland, he was the son of the late Jacob and Johanna (Piersma) Spin.
He worked for Brunswick Mines until his retirement.
He was pre-deceased by his 1st wife, Ann Hennie (Pyke) Spin in 1982.
He is survived by his wife, Raymonde (Mazerolle) Marteau Spin.
Two daughters:
Joanne Aubé (Jacques) and
Jacqueline Spin, both of Fredericton
One son:
Paul Spin of Ottawa, ON
Two step-daughters:
Thérèse Frenette (Richard Roy) and
Lucie Marteau (Hubert Arseneau), both of Bathurst
A nephew; James MacDonald of Bathurst, whom he brought up.
One sister:
Yannie Ennis (Carl) of Valleyfield, PE
6 grandchildren; Meagan, Scott, René, Mélanie, Natalie and Mathieu.
Several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by 2 brothers; Rudolph and Hank.
The body will rest after 7 p.m. Friday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral service will be held on Saturday afternoon (February 21, 2009) at 4 p.m. from the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Highland View Cemetery in the spring. Visiting hours are Friday from 7 to 9 and Saturday from the Funeral Home Chapel from 2 p.m. until time of Service.
