Bathurst- Mrs. Viola Thibodeau of Miramichi Ave., Bathurst, NB passed away at the Chaleur Regional on Thursday 9 April 2009 at the age of 97. Born in St. Raphael -sur-Mer, NB, she was the daughter of the late Alphonse Duguay and the late Virginie (Mallet) Duguay. Her Husband, the late Emile Thibodeau passed away in 1983. Viola is survived by her 14 children: Alice (Homer) Girard of Windsor, ON Marie Mai (Beppino Dugaro) of Terrace, BC Philippe (Barbara) of Pointe-Verte, NB Rose-Marie (Milton Doherty) of Dalhousie, NB Gilbert of Windsor, ON Lillianne Paterson (Luc Parent) of Kingston, ON Adrienne (Jim Brown) of Windsor, ON Rita (late Clifford Duguay), Roger (Sandra), Paulette Thibodeau (Arthur Mallais), Rhéal (Yvette), Patricia (John Doucet), Réginald (Jeannine), Gisèle (Simon Legacy), all of Bathurst. 2 brothers; Eléodore (Lucienne) Duguay of Cap Bateau, NB Warry (Shirley Wedge) of Dalhousie, NB Émilienne (late Séraphin Landry) of Paquetville, NB Izella (Paul Bouchard) of Pointe aux Trembles, QC 34 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews. Our mother loved us all unconditionally and from whom we drew strength from her strength. She will be sadly missed by her entire family. Viola was predeceased by an infant daughter Janita; seven sisters: Célina, Alphonsine, Christina, Laudina, Willimine, Marie and Valtrude. Also, two brothers: Exéo and Émile. Visitations for the late Viola Thibodeau will be at Elhatton Funeral Home, 187 St. George, Bathurst, on Monday 13 April 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 12h00 (noon) until time of funeral. Funeral Mass will be celebrated from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst on Tuesday 14 April 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the St. Mary's cemetery later this spring. In Memory of Viola, Donations to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Palliative Care Unit of the Chaleur Regional Hospital would be appreciated by the Family.
