Remembering his laughter, it is in sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Sivret that occurred on April 16, 2009 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital at the age of 60.
Ron was the beloved husband of Helene (Couture) and the best Dad ever for his daughter Renee Michelle.
He was born in Bathurst, the son of late Martin and late Leona (Couture) Sivret. He leaves behind a brother and two sisters who will miss him very much; Gerald (Linda) Sivret, Geraldine (Harvey) Coll and Anne Marie (Greg) Melanson. He was pre-deceased by a brother Leonide.
Ron was blessed by having an extended family that he also loved so very much; Clifford & late Therese Couture, Paulette (Winston) Sheppard, Annette Couture and Roland Couture.
Ron also touched the hearts of his many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and great nephews.
Ron was an inspiration to his friends and family because being diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 12, which was followed by blindness and kidney failure as time went by, he continued to live life with humour and laughter. Ron recognized his blessings and was grateful to God.
Following in the footsteps of his father and brother, Ron became a bricklayer by trade. He had many interests such as cars & trucks, horses and a passion for archery. Challenged with blindness, he continued to shoot archery by coming up with the idea that his hearing could replace his sight; and it worked!
Ron was also an avid Ham Radio Operator. He often spoke with other operators that shared common interests and challenges. “They’re a great bunch” he’d say about these special friends.
There will be visitation at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com) Bathurst, on Friday, April 17, 2009 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst, April 18, 2009 at 11:00am.
Donations in memory of Ronald may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
