Bathurst - Charles Lavigne Jr., 80, of Dumaresq St., Bathurst, passed away on Friday (April 17, 2009) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a short illness. Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Charles Sr. and Elizabeth “Bessie” (Melanson) Lavigne. He worked for Brunswick Mines and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was a 4th Degree Member of the Msgr. Wheton Assembly, Knights of Columbus, Bathurst and sang in the Seniors Choir for many years. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Rita (Imbeault) Lavigne in 1997. He is survived by: Two sons: Steven of Miramichi Michael of Bathurst One sister: Sylvia Lavigne (late Aloysius) of Bathurst Adopted sister: Gertrude Cameron (Lloyd) of Gatineau, QC One brother: Albert (Claudette) of Bathurst. 2 grandchildren; Samantha, Julie, many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by brothers; Paul, Robert, sisters; Gertrude, Mildred and Evangeline. The body will rest after 2 p.m. Monday at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday (April 21, 2009) at 11 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Bathurst. Visiting hours are Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral
