Bathurst – Nicholas Dimitroff, 87, of Union St., Bathurst which occurred peacefully Sunday (May 3, 2009) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a lengthy battle with illness.
Born in Halifax, NS, he was the son of the late Evanoff and Emma (Landry) Dimitroff.
Nick was a Veteran of World War II and a member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst and was a 4th Degree Member of the Msgr. Wheton Assembly, Knights of Columbus, Bathurst. For many years, he was the former owner of Safety Equipment in Bathurst.
Left to mourn him are his wife of 66 years, Thérèse (Royer) and children:

He will also be missed by his only sister:
Evangeline Gagnon (Victor) of Four Roads, NB
12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by an infant son, Karl (1950), and a son, Claude (l999).
The body will rest after 2 p.m. Tuesday at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday afternoon (May 6, 2009) at 4:00 p.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave, Bathurst. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Wednesday from 2 p.m. until time of Funeral. A Legion Service will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. from the Funeral Home.
