South Tetagouche - Alfred Gallant, 79, of South Tetagouche, passed away on Tuesday (June 30, 2009) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. Born in Petit-Rocher, he was the son of the late Jérome and Alice (Arseneau) Gallant. He worked as a miner in the Bathurst area for most of his life, he was 3rd Degree member of the Notre Dame du Rosaire Conseil #12215 des Chevaliers de Colomb, Bathurst and member of the Magnificat Prayer Group. He is survived by his wife, Marie (Lavigne) Gallant. Three sons: Gérard (Georgine) of White Horse, NWT Richard of Saint John Michel of Bathurst Four daughters: Suzanne Levesque (Louis) of Charlo, NB Patricia Legacy (Gérard), Dianne Cormier (Bernard) and Rachel Legacy (Etienne), all of Bathurst Two brothers: Normand (Lydia) of Ste Anne de Kent, NB Léo (Pauline) of Montreal, QC One sister: Clara Savoie of Saint John 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The body will rest after 2 p.m. Friday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday (July 4, 2009) at 1:30 p.m. from Eglise Notre Dame du Rosaire, Bathurst. Visiting hours are Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until time of Funeral. Donations in memory of Alfred, may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
