Bathurst - Leon White, 72, of Big River, passed away on Friday (July 31, 2009) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Clarence and Mary Ethel (Imhoff) White. He worked at Brunswick Mines and was a member of the 1/4 Century Club and SOAR. He is survived by: Three sisters: Marjorie White of Bathurst Leona Connolly (Ray) of Summerside, PEI Carmel Nixon (Len) of Dunlop, NB Several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by 2 brothers; Alphie, Aurele and a sister; Edna. The body will rest after 2 p.m. Tuesday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday morning (August 5, 2009) at 11 a.m. from Holy Family Church, Bathurst. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral. Donations in memory of Leon may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation or a favorite charity.
