Bathurst - Pierre Brideau, 89, formerly of West Bathurst, passed away on Friday (September 18, 2009) at the Robert L. Knowles Veterans Unit, Bathurst, after a lengthy illness. Born in Pont LaFrance, he was the son of the late Michel and Marie (Arseneault) Brideau. He was pre-decease by his first wife, Lauza Vautour and his second wife, Yvonne McLaughlin. He is survived by: Seven daughters: Annette Fournier (Sandy) of Pont LaFrance Rita White (Percy) of Dieppe Marie-Louise Theresa Black (late Basil), Debbie Willett (Mike), Gloria Chiasson (Maurice), and Bertha Brideau (late Tom Roy) all of Bathurst Sandra Colestock (late Richard) of Beresford Three sons: Gerald Brideau (Rose) of Madran Marven Brideau (Pauline) of Allardville Peter Brideau (Carole) of South Tetagouche One sister: Exilda Doucet of Quebec 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a daughter Elva Brideau-Doucet, a sister; Leda LeBouthillier, 2 brothers; Côme and Alphonse. The body will rest after 2 p.m. Sunday at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday afternoon (September 21, 2009) at 2:00 p.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. (www.elhatton.com).
