Big River - Mrs. Marguerite (Smearer) Good, wife of the late Hubert Good, passed away peacefully at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, on Friday March 26, 2004, at the age of 96 and was a lifelong resident of Big River.
Born in Minot, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Etta (Harrison) Smearer.
A devoted member of the Evangel Pentecostal Church, Bathurst, she knit hundreds of pairs of mittens for needy children, quilted until the time of her death, and was an avid gardener.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Hubert Good, in 1975.

Mary Jean Black (Frank) of Sudbury, ON
Shirley Jardine (Everett) of Big River, with whom she resided.
Two Sons:
Sterling Good of Big River
Robert Good (Lorraine) of Thompson, Man.
Son-in-law: Roy Bell of Montreal, Que.
Sister:
Joyce Wilcox (late Seymour) of St. Stephen, NB
17 Grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by a son, Milton, in 1952; a daughter, Valley Bell, this past February; and five brothers, Herbert, Stanley, Lester, George and Manley Smearer.
The body is resting at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst. Funeral Service will be held on Monday (March 29, 2004) at 2:00 p.m. from the Evangel Pentecostal Church, Basin St. Burial will be in the St. Alban's Cemetery, Bridge St., Bathurst, later in the spring.
