Bathurst - John "Jack" Power, 77, of the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes and formerly of Varrily St., Bathurst, passed away on Friday (November 6, 2009) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in Montreal, Que., he was the son of the late John and Essie (Driscoll) Power.
He was a former employee of CN Rail. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rose Helen (Delagarde) Power and his children; Janice, Glenn and Donna.
John was a kind, loving, devoted husband and father with a smile and infectious laughter, he was always there to give a helping hand. He loved to have his morning coffee with the gang at Tim Horton's and McDonalds to catch up on the latest. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
The family would like to extend a very special thanks and appreciation for all the wonderful care given by the entire staff at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday morning (November 10, 2009) at 11 a.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst. In John memory, donations to the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes or a charity of the donors choice would be appreciated.
