Bathurst - Douglas Kyle, 77, of Whelton Dr., Bathurst, passed away on Monday (December 21, 2009) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Timmons, ON, he was the son of the late Joseph and Irene (Capeless) Kyle.
He worked Noranda Mines before going into business for the former Bathurst Tire Ltd., Sumner Tire and later for Industrial Rubber Inc. He was a member of the Bathurst Chapter of the U.C.T., the Gowan Brae Golf & Country Club, Bathurst Curling Club and was involved in local Sports. He was honored with the Freeman of the City of Bathurst in 2007 and also by the Bathurst Irish Cultural Society
Besides his wife, Viola (Burns) Kyle, he is survived by:

Barry (Arlene),
Murray (Mary) and
Tim (Denise) all of Bathurst
6 grandchildren; Colin, Blaine, Douglas, Julia, Tiffany and Nicholas. Several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by his only sister; Elva.
Visitations will be held after 2 p.m. Sunday December 27, 2009 at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday (December 28, 2009) at 11 a.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst. Visiting hours are Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9, Monday from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral. Donation in memory of Douglas may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
