Alton Dempsey, 58, of Salmon Beach, died suddenly at his residence on Friday (May 21, 2004).
Born in Parsboro, NS, he was the son of Benson Dempsey and the late Evelyn (McKinnon) Dempsey.
He worked for the former Consolidated Bathurst Paper Mill, 'Kenroc Tools' and also as a wood contractor.
Besides his father of Bathurst, he is survived by: His spouse, Ann Spencer, one daughter: Tandi Dempsey of Bathurst and her mother, Shirley Dempsey of Bathurst, two step-sons: Larry Spencer and Chris Spencer (Karen) both of Dieppe, NB, four brothers: Alfred Dempsey of Janeville, Arthur Dempsey (Carmen Coombs) of New Bandon, Lawrence Dempsey (Linda) of Salmon Beach and Wilfred Dempsey (Kathy) of Janeville, four sisters: Barbara Carroll, Inez Clory (Joey,) Alma McQuillan (Denis) all of Georgetown, PEI and Amelia Dempsey of New Bandon, 5 step-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
The body is resting at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday afternoon (May 26, 2004) at 2:00 p.m. from the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Highland View Cemetery, Bridge St.
