Big River - Paul Gauthier, 63, of Big River, passed away on Wednesday (September 1, 2010) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in Nash Creek,NB he was the son of the late William and Olive (Lapointe) Gauthier.
Paul worked at Xstrata Brunswick Mines, Mining Division for 36 years and a short period at Gaspé Copper Mine in Murdochville, QC. Paul was an active member of the Noranda Quarter Century Club and the Happy Ages Senior Citizens Club, Big River.
He is survived by his wife, Elda (Black) Gauthier.
Two sons; Shawn of Big River, NB and William of Vancouver, BC
Three grandchildren; Ashley, Jessica and Kevin Gauthier.
Four sisters; Sharon Carrier (Roger) of Charlo,NB, Annette Landry (Jack) of Dalhousie, NB, Delcina Francoeur (Paul) of Val D'Amour, NB, Maureen Gauthier of Nash Creek, NB.
Four brothers; Regional (Freda) of Campbellton, NB, Wayne of Nash Creek, NB, Lorenzo (Golda) of Orillia, ON, Barry (Elaine) of Niagara Falls, ON.
One aunt; Alphonsine Hickey, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was pre-deceased by a sister; Carmel, a brother; Gabriel and a granddaughter; Alysa.
The body will rest after 7 p.m. Thursday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Service will be held Saturday morning (September 4, 2010) at 11 a.m. from Saint George’s Anglican Church, King Ave., Bathurst. Visiting hours are Thursday from 7 to 9 and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Donations in memory of Paul may be made to the Saint George's Anglican Cemetery or a favorite charity.
