Beresford – It is with great regret that the family announces the death our dear mother, Mrs. Jeanne-d’Arc Chiasson, 79, wife of the late Alyre Chiasson, of Beresford, which occurred peacefully on Sunday (December 19, 2010) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
She was the daughter of the late Octave and Vézina (Savoie) Duguay of Sainte-Marie-Saint-Raphaël.
She is survived by her three children, Denise (Emmerson Simpson) of Beresford, Claude (Denise) of Moncton and Suzanne (Guy) Morrison of Bathurst. Six grandchildren, Jessika-Lynn, Carla, Gillian, Brandon, Renée and Rino; six great-grandchildren, Taryn, Tyler, Cameron, Caleb, Jolyane and Amyka. Six sisters and two brothers, Simonne (late Edgar Paulin) of Sainte-Marie-Saint-Raphaël, Édith (Diomède Lanteigne) of Sainte-Cécile, Léonard (Zénobie) of Gardener, USA, Berthe (late Théogène Haché) of Sainte-Marie-Saint-Raphaël, Yvette (late James Larocque) of Cap-Bateau, Claire (Humbert Savoie) of Sainte-Marie-Saint-Raphaël, Gabrielle Duguay of Sainte-Marie-Saint-Raphaël and Jean-Eudes of Montréal.
Several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and a very special person; Maurena Nini.
She was pre-deceased by 3 brothers, Valmond Duguay, Père Arsène Duguay and Gérard Duguay and a sister Gertrude Chiasson.
She worked as a teacher in Robertville until her retirement. She was admired and well known by many as « Madame Chiasson ».
The family will receive relatives and friends after 2 p.m. Wednesday at Heritage Funeral Home (www.mfheritage.com), Beresford. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday afternoon (December 22, 2010) at 4:30 p.m. from Eglise St. Nom-de-Jésus, Beresford. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 2 p.m. until time of Funeral. Donations in memory of Jeanne-d’Arc may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Palliative Care Unit of the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation or a favorite charity.
