Bathurst - It is with great sadness that the family announce the death of Michel Couture, 62, of Grandview St., Bathurst, who passed away on Saturday (January 15, 2011) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.

Born in St. Germaine Boulé, Abitibi, QC, he was the son of the late Joseph and Jeannette (Morin) Couture.

He was retired from the Mining Industry and was a 3rd member of the Knights of Columbus in Beresford.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Marianne (Roy) Couture, one daughter; Mélanie (Martin Couture) of Vaudreuil-Dorion,QC, and her 2 children, Océane and Maïka.  One son; Rémi (Julie Noël) of Moncton.

One sister; Yvette (Claude LaCroix) of Trois Rivières, QC.  Eight brothers; Yves (Pauline) of Lac St. Jean, QC, Gilles (Suzanne) of Trois Rivières, QC, Germain (Francine) of Pont Brillant, QC, Yvon (Georgette) of Pointe-Verte, NB, André (Thérèse), Claude (Sylvie), René and Mario (Nicole) all of Val d'Or, QC.  His mother-in-law; Jeannette Roy.  

Three sisters-in-law; Gloria Couture of Pointe-Verte, Ginette Couture of Val d'Or, Simone Pépin of Disraëli, QC.  Several nieces, nephews and in-laws.
 
He was pre-deceased by a sister, Denise and 4 brothers; Guy, Rénald, Réjean and Jean-Paul.
 
The family will receive relatives and friends after 2 p.m. Wednesday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday (January 20, 2011) at 4 p.m. from Our Lady of the Rosary Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst.  Visiting hours are Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Thursday from 2 p.m. until time of Funeral.  Donations in memory of Michel may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
