Bathurst - Mrs. Eleanor Henry, 78, wife of Norman Henry, of Poirier Lane, Bathurst, died Saturday (June 12, 2004) at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital in Moncton, after a brief illness. Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Edmund and Elizabeth (Henry) Ellis. She served in the militia as Corporal in the Pay Corps for 9 years. She worked at Sears for a number of years, she was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Women's League, volunteered for “Meals on Wheel” for 10 years and was an avid card player. Besides her beloved husband, Norman Henry, she is survived by her loving family: One son: Lorne Henry (Yvette) of Bathurst Two daughters: Brenda Romolliwa (Andrew) of Lethbridge, AB Karen McCrea (Hazen) of South Tetagouche Two brothers: Douglas Ellis of Toronto, ON Arnold Ellis (Claire) of Toronto, ON Nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The body rested at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday morning (June 14, 2004) at 11:00 a.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
