Canobie - Linda Elizabeth Ellis, of Canobie and formerly of the Miramichi and PEI, passed away suddenly on Monday (March 21, 2011) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital.
Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Bonita (Kamermans) Ellis.
As a young woman, Linda spent several years in British Columbia, but soon returned to the Maritimes where she spent her adult life caring for the elderly in their homes. Linda's kind and gentle ways made a difficult time for many people just a little bit easer as her care allowed theme to remain in their homes just a little bit longer.
Linda enjoyed quiet times with her furry companions Quincy and Quinn, but also enjoyed getting together with her family and friends for game nights, a game of cards, a movie or to celebrate family get-togethers. She enjoyed cooking and baking and her talent for making biscuits was "legendary" in her Evergreen Lane neighborhood.
Linda is survived by one sister Melody Saindon of PEI, two brothers Dean (Glenda) Ellis and Dennis (Cheryl) Ellis, both of St. John's, NF, nephews Michael Ellis and Eric Saindron and nieces Jodi Saindon of PEI, nieces, Jennifer Saindon, Claire Ellis and Katie Ellis of NL, two great-nephews Zachary and William of PEI and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Besides her parents, Linda was pre-deceased by her paternal grandparents Eldon and Elizabeth "Betty" Ellis and maternal grandparents Arthur Kamermans and Juanita (Kamermans) Jonah.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. Family and friends will gather to celebrated her life and say their goodbye's at a later date. For anyone wishing to send tokens of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to the Bathurst S.P.C.A. or a favorite charity. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
