Bathurst – Mrs. Margaret Agnes Doucet, beloved wife of the late Alexander "Alex" Doucet, formerly of South Bathurst, passed away peacefully on Friday (April 8, 2011) at the age of 86 at Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes, Bathurst, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Nash Creek, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Flora (Elsliger) LaPointe.
Margaret was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst and the Sacred Heart Cathedral Catholic Women’s League, Bathurst. She was a very loving mother and wife who enjoyed music, dancing and time spent with family and friends.
She is survived by her two loving daughters: Veronica Ratchford (David) and Debbie Branch (Kent) both of Bathurst. Four grandchildren, Natalie, Krista, Monica, Stephen, and four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. One sister, Pearl Pitre of Bathurst.
She was pre-deceased by a brother, Ernest, sisters, Agatha, Elizabeth and Nora.
The body will rest after 2 p.m. Sunday at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday (April 11, 2011) at 2 p.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst. Donations in memory of Margaret may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or a favorite charity. Visiting hours are Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Monday from noon until time of funeral.
