The death of Gilbert Gallant, 65, of Munro St., in Bathurst occurred Tuesday, 22 June 2004 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Ste. Anne, Gloucester County, he was the son of the late Amatus Gallant and the Florida Haché.
He had a successful career in sales. He resided in Dartmouth, NS for several years before returning to Bathurst where he continued to work in sales. He suffered a stroke in his late fifties, which left him disabled.
2 sons will sadly miss him; Frank (Tammy) and Mike (Ariel McGuire) both of Dartmouth, NB, Four brothers, Wilfred (Freda), Yvon, and Reginald (Elizabeth Ann) all of Bathurst and Marc (Elizabeth) of Moncton. Five sisters, Patricia (William) Walsh of Seaforth, ON, Lillianna (Kenneth) McLaren of Montreal, QC, Sylvia (Laurent) Genest of Trois Rivière, QC, Julia (Roger) Bourgeois and Gemma (Gerald) Bouma both of Moncton, NB. Two aunts, Bernadette Gallant and Evangeline Haché. Several cousins, nieces and nephews.
There were no visitations at the funeral home.
Funeral mass was celebrated from the Holy Family Church, Saturday 26 June, 2004 with Father Wesley Wade officiating. Interment was in the parish cemetery.
Arrangements were placed in the care of Elhatton Funeral Home.
