Bathurst - Mrs. Josephine "Jo" Adams, 83, wife of the late Sidney Adams, of Brunswick Ave, Bathurst, passed away on Thursday (July 21, 2011) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.

Born in Yarmouth, NS, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Jean (Redding) Sweeney.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Cathedral Catholic Women's League, Bathurst, enjoyed Line Dancing, member of the Red Hat Society, Bridge Club and past member of the Gowan Brae Golf & Country Club.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Sidney in 1990.

She is survived by, four sons, Greg (Paula),

Timothy (Sue) and William (Brigitte) all of Bathurst, Thomas (Rhonda) of Dartmouth, NS.  Four daughters, Susan Hachey (Aurele), Kathy DeGrace (Robert), Paula Doucet (Ronald) and Anne Furlotte (Greg) all of Bathurst.  Two sisters, Anna Lou Thompson of Texas and Elizabeth "Tish" Hall of Florida.  Special aunt, Helen "Aunt Hon" Foote of Bathurst.  Grandchildren, David Hachey, Kevin Hachey, Adam DeGrace, Erika DeGrace, Heather Doucet, Patricia Lagacy, Ryan Adams, Lauren Adams, Trevor Adams, Alexandria Furlotte, Mitchell Furlotte and Kathryn Adams.  Great-grandchildren, Anna Lagacy and Kate Lagacy.

She was pre-deceased by a brother, Gordon "Bud" Sweeney.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 from Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday (July 26, 2011) at 11 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst.
