Bathurst - Emile Daigle, 80, of Roche St. and formerly of the Villa Chaleur, Bathurst, passed away on Tuesday (August 2, 20ll) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in Bathurst, he was son of the late Donald and Angelina (Boudreau) Daigle.
He worked as the custodian at Holy Rosary Church until his retirement.
He was pre-deceased by his wife, Marjorie (Roy) Daigle in 2003.
He is survived by two daughters; Diane Haggerty (Edmond) of North Tetagouche, Linda Lavigne (Marcel) of Chamberlain Settlement. One son; Michel Daigle (Rachel Aubie) of Beresford. One brother; Claude Daigle of Middle River. Two sisters; Marie Rose Boudreau of Bathurst and Emilia (Bernard Melanson) of Ste Anne’s, Glou. Co. 5 Grandchildren; Kristina Lynn Haggerty, Jeremie Lavigne and Kayla Young Daigle, Kelsie Aubie and Brandon Aubie. Several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by a brother; Cleo, sisters; Evangeline, Annabelle and Lucienne.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday morning (August 6, 2011) at 11 a.m. from Our Lady of the Rosary Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst. Donations in memory of Emile may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donors choice. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home, (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
