Raymond Pitre - It is with sadness we announce the death of Raymond Pitre, age 39, which occurred accidentally August 20, 2011 near Resolute Bay, Nunavut. He was born in Dalhousie, New Brunswick, was the son of Janette Lapoint (Gray) and the late Richard Pitre of Jacquet River.
Raymond is survived by his common law spouse, Kirsten Temple and their two daughters Savanna Pitre, 14 and Jestina Pitre, 11, both of Big River; and one son Ashley (Shannon) Hunter, 21, of Toronto, Ont., twin daughters Alyanna and Alyssa Mazerolle, 19, of Jacquet River and a grandson, Joseph Hunter, 2, of Toronto, Ont. He is also survived by two brothers, Stephen Pitre and Mike (Leslie) Pitre of Moncton; two sisters, Beatrice (Ron) Guitard of Jacquet River and Judy (Daniel) Pitre of Bathurst.
Raymond worked for Marco's Concrete Floors for almost 8 years. He loved hunting, fishing, picnics at Pabineau Falls and weekend camping trips with his family and friends. He was a caring and devoted father who loved to entertain his children and his children's friends and make them laugh and smile. Even at the worst of times he could brightened their day.
He will always hold a very special place in the hearts of all his family and friends. The memories and experiences they shared together will be an everlasting treasure.
The body will rest after 2 p.m. Sunday at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday morning at 11 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst. Visitations are Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Monday from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral. A trust fund for his children has been established at the Toronto Dominion Bank under "Kirsten Temple Trust Fund" for those wishing to send tokens of sympathy.
