Bathurst - Mrs. Thérèse Santerre, 80, wife of Roger Santerre, of Sunset Dr. Bathurst, passed away on Friday (December 9, 2011) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in Robertville, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Beatrice (Godin) Lavigne.
Besides her husband, she is survived by five sons: Marc Emile of Petit-Rocher, Daniel of Ottawa, Ont., Gaëtan (Claire Gendron) of Quebec, Louis (Kimberly) of Riverview, Charles (Peggy) of Moncton.
Two daughters: Rachel and Elise Santerre both of Bathurst; two brothers: Majella Lavigne of Sudbury, Ont., Edgar Lavigne of Burlington, Ont., three sisters:
Sr. Marie Rose Lavigne of Berthierville, Qc, Maria Arseneau, Hélène Comeau both of Bathurst.
4 grandchildren: Dr. Mylène Santerre, Maxime, Jennifer and Katherine, several nieces and nephews.
Thérèse was humble, gentle and a person of faith. She accepted everyone as they are and had a humorous side.
Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday (December 14, 2011) from église Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire, St, Peter Ave., Bathurst. Donations in memory of Thérèse may be made to the Osteoporosis Society or a charity of the donors choice. Arrangements were in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
We, the family would like to greatly thank everyone for the great support given to us in this so difficult time, especially Father Wade and the choir for the beautiful ceremony.
She will be greatly missed by all and forever in our hearts.
