Bathurst - Mrs. Carmelita Pitre, 93, wife of the late William Pitre, of St. Simon St, Bathurst, passed away on Monday (December 26, 2011) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Dora (Boucher) Arseneau.
She worked as a sign maker for most of her life at the former K-Mart Department Store and was an avid Scrabble player.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, William Pitre and is survived by:
One son, Gerald "Gerry" Pitre (Janet) of Bathurst. One brother, Cyr E. Arseneau of Bathurst. Three sisters: Cecile "Beline" Veniot (John) of Bathurst, Claire "Poune" Daigle of Toronto, ON and Mary "Nenone" Hannan (Clifford) of Bathurst. Five grandchildren, Allan, Shannon, Karolyn, Jeremy and Melissa. Two great-grandchildren; Liam and Brandon. Several nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by two children; Phyllis Turpin, Cyril Pitre, one brother, Cléo, two sister, Anita Kenny and Alesandria Arseneau.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday (December 30, 2011) at 11 a.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst. Donations in memory of Carmelita may be made to a charity of their donors choice. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
