Bathurst - Mrs. Ruth Daley, 88, wife of the late Alton Daley, formerly of Bridge St., Bathurst, passed away on Friday (December 30, 2011) at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes, Bathurst.
Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Ronald and Laura Mae (Dealy) Ramsay.
Ruth lived most of her life in the Bathurst and New Bandon areas. She was a homemaker and worked many years at Zellers. She loved to joke, laugh and dance. Besides being a great cook, she was also an excellent seamstress. You never left Ruth's home hungry, thirsty or without a smile. Ruth loved her family, especially her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Her wit & friendliness will be missed by all.
Ruth is survived by two grandchildren; Melissa and Corey, six great-grandchildren, one sister, Vera Jagoe of Bathurst, one sister-in-law, Joan Ramsay of Black River Bridge as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was pre-deceased by a son, Larry, grandson, Eldon, one infant sister, Sadie, six brothers, Rudolph, Mervin, Colin, Eldon, Keith and Ivan.
By request there will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday (January 7, 2012) at 2 p.m. from the First United Church, St. Patrick St. Bathurst, conducted by Rev. Blair Lewis. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the First United Church or any local charity would be appreciated.
