Bathurst- The death of Leonard Lavigne, 70, of Big River, passed away on Saturday (February 18, 2012) in Maisonette.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Albert and Blanche (Martle) Lavigne.
Besides his partner, Elaine Boudreau, he is survived by: Two sons, Richard "Ricky" Lavigne (Karen) of Big River and Curtis Lavigne (Julie Roy) both of Beresford. Six grandchildren, Sarah, Jessica, Samantha, Logan, Tyler, Madison and one great-grandchild. Four brothers, Albert Lavigne of Fredericton, Herman Lavigne of Pokeshaw, Claude Lavigne of Bathurst and Donald Lavigne (Solange) of Beresford. Five sisters, Gabrielle Lozier (Azade) of Rouyn Noranda, QC, Annette Dedromp of Ontario, Jeannine Vienneau (Loronzo) of Rough Waters, Yvette Hodgins (Joey) of Fredericton and Bibianne Legacy (Normand) of Bathurst. The mother of his children, Eileen Ferguson of Beresford. Several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by two sons, Steven, Daren, two sisters, Blanch, Marcella and a brother, Paul.
The family will receive relatives and friend on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at Elhatton’s Funeral Home, Bathurst. Funeral service will be held from the Elhatton Funeral Home chapel on Wednesday (February 22, 2012) at 2 p.m. with Father Gregory Culligan officiating.
