Bathurst - It is with great sadness that the family of Purdy Good, announce his death on Saturday (February 25, 2012) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, at the age of 82.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Douglas and Marjorie (Peterson) Good.
Founder of Good Brothers in Big River, he was a mechanic by trade.
He was the loving husband for nearly 59 years of Helen (Lynch) Good, who passed away in 2011.
He was the beloved father of two daughters: Maureen Neumann (Mike) of Kingston, ON and Colleen Cormier (Renald) of Bathurst; Proud Poppy of Amy Neumann, Matthew Neumann, Kelly Cormier and Melissa Cormier; 4 great-grandchildren: Damian, Noah, Danika and Presley. Also survived by three sisters: Wilma Cranton (Fred) of Scarborough, ON, Glenda Hughes (Robert) of Sudbury, ON, Norma Emmons (Kenneth) of London, ON. Several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by brothers, Graham, Wentworth and Martin.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday afternoon (March 2, 2012) at 2 p.m. from the First United Church, St. Patrick St., Bathurst. Donations in memory of Purdy may be made to the Manoir Brise de L’Oasis, Palliative Care unit of the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Alzheimer’s Society or a favorite charity.
