Salmon Beach - Sherman Smith, 69, of Salmon Beach, died Thursday (May 15, 2003) at Moncton Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Salmon Beach, he was the son of the late Dudley and Jean (MacLean) Smith.
He worked for a time at the former Consolidated Bathurst Paper Mill and later owned and operated the former Smith Sales and Services in Salmon Beach. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Percy Smith (Rhoda) and
Ernest Smith (Linda) both of Salmon Beach
Several nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by sister, Elizabeth Wood.
The body rested at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst. Funeral service was held on Sunday afternoon (May 18, 2003) at 2:00 p.m. with Gordon Hazelwood officiating, from the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Highland View Cemetery, Bridge St., Bathurst. For anyone wishing to send tokens of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to the Kidney Foundation or a favorite charity.
