Bathurst – Maurice Chamberlain, 61, of Carl Dr., Bathurst, passed away suddenly on Sunday (June 3, 2012) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Melase and Cécile (Roy) Chamberlain.
Maurice was a well known businessman in the Bathurst area, owner operator of Maurice Gas Bar in Bathurst and Beresford. 3rd Degree Member of the former Knights of Columbus, East Bathurst.
Besides his wife, Claudette (Boucher) Chamberlain, he is survived by two sons: René (Nancy Furlotte) of Bathurst and Terry of Grand Prairie, Alb.,
five brothers: Gerald (Ella) of Ottawa, Ont., Jean Paul (Diane), André (Claudette) and Denis, all of Bathurst, Gilbert (Barb) of Fort Nelson, B.C.,
three sisters: Trudy Sousa (Luis) of Milton, Ont., Lucie Montgomery (Russell) of Canoe, B.C. and Marie Claire Caron (Jean Paul) of Prince George, B.C.,
proud grandfather to Chelsey and Jesse, sister-in-law; Diane Chamberlain of Bathurst, several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by a sister, Anne Marie and a brother, Leonard.
The body will rest after 2 p.m. Wednesday at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning (June 7, 2012) at 11 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Thursday from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral.
