Bathurst - Abraham Chamberlain, 84, of Vantassell St., Bathurst, passed away on Saturday (July 5, 2003) at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Born in Caraquet, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Bernadette (Thériault) Chamberlain.
He served in World War II with the Royal Canadian Army in Canada, United Kingdom, France and Holland. He was a life member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst. He was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, council 8678, East Bathurst. He worked for 36 years, retiring in 1981, for the former Consolidated Bathurst Paper Mill and was a member of the company's Quarter Century Club.
He was pre-deceased by his first wife, the former Vera Boucher.
He is survived by his wife, the former Josie Boucher.

He was pre-deceased by a daughter, Nicole Griggs, two sisters, Cecile and Alma.
The body is resting at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday (July 8, 2003) at 2:00 p.m. from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church (Eglise Notre Dame du Mont Carmel), Rough Waters Dr., Bathurst. Burial will be in the Holy Family Cemetery. www.elhatton.com
