South Tetagouche, NB – It is with great sadness that the family of Carol Ward, cherished wife of Clayton Ward, announces her passing on Monday (January 21, 2013) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Born in Sudbury, Ont., she was the daughter of Corinne (Bernard) Valcourt and the late Clement R. Valcourt.
Carol worked at many different jobs in the hospitality and retail industries and the family business. She enjoyed music, traveling, camping and gardening and was a talented artist and homemaker. Her talents were numerous. She loved people and socializing and her memory will be cherished by family neighbors and friends. Carol will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She leaves behind her beloved family: husband, Clayton; mother, Corinne Valcourt of South Tetagouche; daughters: Fay Vienneau of Teslin, Yukon, Serina Parrill (Jason) of Edmonton, Alta. and Jessica Duguay of South Tetagouche; two grandchildren: Amber May Wiseman and Aaron Vie; sisters: Anita Levesque (Leo) of Ripon, Que., Jeanine Smyth (Roland) and Dolores Lavigne (Alphonse) both of Bathurst, Louise Valcourt (Kevin Tremblay) of LaPlante, Cheryl Roy (Levi) of South Tetagouche; brothers: Jean Marc, Peter, both of South Tetagouche and Michel of Halifax, N.S., as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.ehatton.com), Bathurst, after 2 p.m. Friday. Funeral Mass will be celebrated from the Holy Family Church on Saturday morning (January 26, 2013) at 11 a.m. Visiting hours are Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral. Donations in memory of Carol may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the SPCA or a favorite charity.
