Beresford – It is with great sadness that we the family announce the death of Maurice Gagnon, of Beresford, which occurred Thursday (February 7, 2013) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, at the age of 75.
Born in Lyster, Que., he was the son of the late Gustave and Gertrude (Bédard) Gagnon.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannine Cyr-Gagnon.
Two daughters: Carole Gagnon of Orleans, Ont., and Diane Gagnon of Moncton.
One adopted son, Allain Boudreau (Catherine) of Orleans, Ont.
Six sisters: Lucille (Merlyn Joudrey) of Oshawa, Ont., Sr. Thérèse Gagnon of the Congrégation Bon-Pasteur de Sainte-Foy, Que., Henriette Gagnon of Rock Forest, Que., Béatrice Viger of Frederick, Maryland, U.S., Pierrette (Jocelyn Perron) of Lyster, Que. and Hélène (Camille Dubois) of Saint-Flavien, Que.
Two brothers: Léo Gagnon (Juliette) of Petit-Rocher and Gérard Gagnon of Longueuil, Que.
Seven grandchildren : Mélissa, Sébastien, Vanessa, Janie, Sandrine, Marie-Eve et Marc-Antoine.
Two great-grandsons: Owen and Cody.
Several sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws, nieces, nephews and step-children.
He was pre-deceased by the mother of his children and his first wife, Régina (Roy) Gagnon and one brother, Marcel.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at Heritage Funeral Home, 270 rue Centre, Beresford (www.mfheritage.com). Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday (February 11, 2013) at 11 a.m. from Holy Name of Jesus Church, Beresford.
Donations in memory of Maurice may be made to the Canadian Brain Tumours Foundation, the Palliative Care Unit of the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation or a favourite charity.
