1948-2013
At Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton, Ont., on February 8th, 2013 at the age of 64, Gordon Ross lost his battle with cancer peacefully with his daughter by his side.
Born in Bathurst, N.B., Gordon was the son of the late Lazare and Alice (Cormier) Ross.
He is survived by his daughter, Kristin Ross (Robert MacLellan) of Halifax, N.S. His son, Andrew Ross (Beth Kuepfer) of Kitchener, Ont., and their mother Margit Hartviksen of Kitchener, Ont.
His two brothers: John (Denise) of Bathurst, N.B., and Arthur (Diane) of Victoria, B.C.
His five sisters: Janet Bumpus of Wausau, Winconsin, Joan MacPherson (Bruce) of Prescott, Arizona, Eileen Ross of Bathurst, N.B., Kathleen Ernste of Hamilton, Ont., and Ann Ross of Kentville, N.S.
Many cousins, nieces and nephews, uncles and aunts.
He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, David Ross.
A beloved son, brother, father and friend, Gordon spent most of his adult life in Kitchener, Ont. An avid hockey fan since childhood, he was also a gifted player on many teams over the years. His passion for music was reflected in his extensive vinyl collection. A gregarious, friendly and generous man, he loved to laugh and make others laugh. An adventurous spirit brought Gordon to Mexico, Florida and Hamilton in recent years. He was deeply proud of his children.
A memorial service will be held on February 14th, 2013 at Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home in Kitchener, Ont. His ashes will be returned to Bathurst, N.B. in the summer 2013.
