Petit-Rocher, N.B. - James Guitard, 91, of Petit-Rocher, passed away on Friday (February 15, 2013) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Belledune, he was the son of the late John Mick and Brigitte (Guitard) Guitard.
He served in World War II with the Royal Canadian Army in Canada and overseas. He worked as a woodcutter and miner for most of his life.
He is survived by his spouse, Léona (LeJeune) Arseneau.
Two brothers: Israel Guitard of Beresford and Paul Guitard of Prince George, B.C.
Two sisters: Rose LeJeune of Petit-Rocher and Emelia Guitard (Léonard) of Pointe-Verte.
Several nieces, nephews and will be greatly missed by the Arseneau family.
He was pre-deceased by three brothers: Evarist, Victorin, John and two sisters: Evangeline and Hélène.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday (February 20, 2013) at 11 a.m. from Elhatton's Funeral Home Chapel.
Donations in memory of James may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a favorite charity.
