1931 - 2013

Bathurst - François "Francis" Doucet, 82, of Résidence Vienneau Special Care Home, Bathurst, and formerly of Goodwin Mills Road, passed away peacefully on Friday (March 22, 2013) with his family by his side at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Pearl (LeCouter) Doucet.

François worked for Irving, Atlantic Wholesalers where he retired.  He was a jack of all trades and loved hunting, fishing, bird watching and his loved his pets; Bud, Candy and Misty.

François will be sadly missed by his two sons: François Doucet Jr. (Line) of Dieppe and Dean Doucet (Sheri) of Bathurst. 

Five daughters: Annette MacDonald (Leighton) of Dartmouth, N.S., Linda Doucet-Julien (Denis) of Beaumont, Que., Pearl Doucet (Raymond), Rachel Melanson (David) and Susanne Foote, all of Bathurst.  His beloved 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. 

Three sisters: Jeannette Couture (late Raymond) of Bathurst, Hilda Hodgins and Adrienne "Bebe" MacDonald (late David), both of Halifax, N.S.  

One brother, Raymond Doucet (Gisèle) of Bathurst.

He also leaves behind a very special friend, Isabel Knowles.

In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by his wife, Jeanne-Mance (Dostie) Doucet; a son, Wilfred and a grandson, Michel Doucet.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday afternoon (March 27, 2013) at 2 p.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst.
