1934-2013
The death of Alban Landry of Robertville occured August 4, 2013 at his summer residence in Beresford, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Philias Landry and Sylvia Boudreau.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife Paula, her daughter Manon Pitre (Francis Martineau) and her grand-daughter Kariane.
He was a loving father to six children who cherished their dad : Lise (Ronald Gallagher) and their daughters: Nadine and Mélanie (Paul Martin), Marc (Wendy) and their sons: Kevol and Kalum, Louis (Carol) and their daughter Sophie, Annette (Blair Garrett) and their son Christian, Denis (Linda) and their daughter Émilie, Hélène and her sons: Alex and Justin. He was a loving great-grandfather to: Maxime, Emma, Annabelle and Élisa.
He is also survived by brothers: Gérard(Laurette) of Oshawa, Léon of Deep River, Lionel (Marianne) of Montréal, Roger (Peggy) of Fredericton and Jean-Auguste of Montréal, a sistser-in-law, Edith Landry and many nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by a brother Éloi and sisters Hélène and Adrienne.
Alban worked as an education instructor for Workplace Health and Safety for the province of New Brunswick. He was MLA representing the Nepisiguit Riding from 1995-1999. He devoted his life to helping others through his volunteer work. His passion for music was shared with others through his beautiful voice. He was choir director for chorale Voidunor and church choirs in East Bathurst and Robertville. His faith led him to devote himself for the parishes of which he was a member. Alban was an ardent defender of senior’s rights. He was involved in the New Brunswick Senior Citizens Federation at the local, regional and provincial levels. He was also involved in youth organizations such as Scouts, sports associations, minor hockey and Home and School for several years.
Visitations will be held on Thursday August 8th from 2-4 at the Heritage Funeral Home in Beresford with funeral services to follow at the Ste-Thérèse-d’Avila church in Robertville at 7p.m.
Interment will be at the parish cemetary, Saint-Mary Ave. In East Bathurst.
