Bathurst - Lucien M. Savoie, 91, of the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes and formerly of Miramichi Road, passed away Saturday (September 21, 2013) at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes, Bathurst.
Born in St. Raphael sur Mer, he was the son of the late Magorique and Catherine (Chiasson) Savoie.
He was the owner operator of his own Logging Company until his retirement.
Besides his wife, Margaret (Bennett) Savoie, he is survived by eight children: Anne Marie Roussel (Yvon) of Goodwin Mills, Walter Savoie (Joanne) of Campbell River, B.C., David Savoie (Odette), Roger Savoie (Bonita) and Jocelyne Armstrong (late Craig) all of Bathurst, Hector Savoie (Candice) of Vancouver, B.C., Stephen Savoie (Tammy) of Vernon, B.C. and Blair Savoie (Vickimona) of Onoway, Alta.
13 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by 2 brothers and 7 sisters.
The body will rest after 2 p.m. Monday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
Funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday (September 24, 2013) at 2 p.m. from the Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel, Bathurst.
Visiting hours are Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Tuesday from 1 p.m. at the Chapel until time of Funeral. Donations in memory of Lucien may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a favorite charity.
